Pool standings going into Day 2 of the Toys “R” Us PPA Finals

We’re officially one day into the Toys “R” Us PPA Finals presented by JOOLA, and the action in Southern California has lived up to the hype.

Seven of Wednesday’s 20 pool play matches went to a deciding game, and men’s doubles provided some highly entertaining matches with notable wins from Eric Oncins/Dylan Frazier and Noe Khlif/Tyson McGuffin.

Pool play continues Thursday at Life Time Rancho San Clemente, with live broadcast coverage beginning at 11am PT on Pickleballtv.

As a reminder, the top two players or teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals taking place on Saturday.

Here is the order of play:

Here’s a look at the pool standings heading into Thursday.

Women’s Singles

Pool A

  1. 1. Kate Fahey (1-0)
  2. 2. Lea Jansen (1-0)
  3. 3. Catherine Parenteau (0-1)
  4. 4. Liz Truluck (0-1)
  5.

Pool B

  1. 1. Kaitlyn Christian (1-0)
  2. 2. Brooke Buckner (1-0)
  3. 3. Chao Yi Wang (0-1)
  4. 4. Judit Castillo (0-1)
  5.

Men’s Singles

Pool A

  1. 1. Connor Garnett (1-0)
  2. 2. Christian Alshon (1-0)
  3. 3. Jack Sock (0-1)
  4. 4. Chris Haworth (0-1)
  5.

NOTE: Garnett avenged his recent loss to Haworth in the semifinal of last week’s Slam event in Atlanta with a 12-10, 11-6 victory on Wednesday. Haworth is the top seed, but he’ll be in a near must-win scenario on Thursday when he faces Christian Alshon. Alshon won their most recent meeting in the bronze medal match of the Newport Beach Open by a 6-11, 11-8, 11-7 score line.

Pool B

  1. 1. Hunter Johnson (1-0)
  2. 2. Federico Staksrud (1-0)
  3. 3. John Lucian Goins (0-1)
  4. 4. Roscoe Bellamy (0-1)
  5.

NOTE: Both of Wednesday’s matches in this pool went to three games, with Johnson and Staksrud coming away with thrilling comeback victories against Bellamy and Goins, respectively. Point differential (PD) could come into play here, as Goins’ PD is at -1 while Bellamy’s is only at -5. Those two figures could change drastically with one strong performance from either player.

Mixed Doubles

Pool A

  1. 1. Anna Leigh Waters/Ben Johns (1-0)
  2. 2. Rachel Rohrabacher/Christian Alshon (1-0)
  3. 3. Catherine Parenteau/Gabe Tardio (0-1)
  4. 4. Tina Pisnik/Federico Staksrud (0-1)
  5.

Pool B

  1. 1. Jorja Johnson/JW Johnson (1-0)
  2. 2. Anna Bright/Hayden Patriquin (1-0)
  3. 3. Jessie Irvine/Eric Oncins (0-1)
  4. 4. Tyra Black/Andrei Daescu (0-1)
  5.

NOTE: The Johnsons will face off against Bright/Patriquin on Thursday in a match that will likely decide who finishes first in this pool, since both teams are 1-0 after Wednesday. Bright/Patriquin lead the head-to-head 2-1 and have won both meetings that have taken place in 2026. This will be the day’s fifth contest on Humana Championship Court.

Women’s Doubles

Pool A

  1. 1. Anna Leigh Waters/Anna Bright (1-0)
  2. 2. Catherine Parenteau/Jade Kawamoto (1-0)
  3. 3. Kate Fahey/Ting Chieh Wei (0-1)
  4. 4. Meghan Dizon/Alix Truong (0-1)
  5.

Pool B

  1. 1. Parris Todd/Rachel Rohrabacher (1-0)
  2. 2. Jorja Johnson/Tyra Black (1-0)
  3. 3. Chao Yi Wang/Kaitlyn Christian (0-1)
  4. 4. Lacy Schneemann/Tina Pisnik (0-1)
  5.

Men’s Doubles

Pool A

  1. 1. Ben Johns/Gabe Tardio (1-0)
  2. 2. Eric Oncins/Dylan Frazier (1-0)
  3. 3. JW Johnson/CJ Klinger (0-1)
  4. 4. Connor Garnett/Riley Newman (0-1)
  5.

NOTE: Both of Wednesday’s matches in this pool went to three games. Interestingly enough, Oncins/Frazier have a -6-point differential despite winning their match against Johnson/Klinger. Johns/Tardio will face Oncins/Frazier on Thursday in a match that will likely decide who wins the pool. If Oncins/Frazier lose this match, they may have to watch their point differential going into the final pool play matches on Friday.

Pool B

  1. 1. Hayden Patriquin/Christian Alshon (1-0)
  2. 2. Noe Khlif/Tyson McGuffin (1-0)
  3. 3. Andrei Daescu/Federico Staksrud (0-1)
  4. 4. Jay Devilliers/Jaume Martinez Vich (0-1)
  5.

NOTE: Playing together for the first time in nearly a year, Khlif/McGuffin pulled off one of Wednesday’s most impressive wins with an 11-7, 9-11, 11-6 victory over Daescu/Staksrud. They will look to continue their strong start to their reunion when they face Patriquin/Alshon on Thursday for sole possession of first place in this pool.
