PPA Tour Europe's first event as a unified European tour begins Wednesday with the P250 Barcelona Open at Tennis Despí in Barcelona, Spain.

The inaugural season features 20 events across nine countries, €545,000 in total prize money, and a road that leads to the PPA Finals Europe in May 2027—giving players a clear championship target and a full season-long narrative to chase.

The launch created a long-awaited pathway for Europe’s top talent. Players across the continent now have consistent opportunities to compete at a professional level, earn prize money, and climb the ranks without needing to travel overseas.

It’s a foundational step toward developing homegrown stars and integrating Europe more deeply into the global pickleball ecosystem.

"I’m really excited about the PPA Tour coming to Europe. I think it’s a huge step for the growth of the sport and for European players," said Spanish player Giovanna Mandon Grigioni. "I’m especially looking forward to competing at the highest level, playing against the best players in the world, and being part of this new chapter for European pickleball."

Mandon Grigioni isn’t alone in that feeling, with anticipation building to a fever pitch since the announcement of PPA Tour Europe’s arrival in early August.

"I’m looking forward to seeing tournament standards continue to rise and hopefully seeing improvements in pickleball broadcasting and advertising. I hope that this exposure will also help develop pickleball in smaller countries like Latvia, where the sport is still in its early stages," said Latvian player Anna Marija Bukina. "I’d love to see more infrastructure, more opportunities to play, and more people discovering what an amazing sport pickleball is."

"I hope to see a level of professionalism we haven’t experienced yet in Europe," mentioned Polish player Mikolaj Biedermann. "I’m very happy to see Europe potentially join other continents as a pickleball kingdom."
