Storylines per Premier team participating in San Clemente: 

Brooklyn Pickleball Team (7 wins, 4 losses, 23 standings points) – Will Pat Smith be called upon again to fill in for either Riley Newman or Dekel Bar (who were both out of the PPA in San Clemente due to injury)?

Columbus Sliders (7-4, 20 points) – Can a very strong women’s duo (Lea Jansen and Parris Todd) be the difference for the Sliders to leap up the standings?

LA Mad Drops (10-4, 28 points): Will the Jade Kawamoto destruction experience continue? She has been terrific in women’s doubles with Catherine Parenteau in 2025 and is 21-7 overall. 

Phoenix Flames (3-11, 9 points): Does Team Showtime have one last push for the playoffs or is it all sizzle and no flame for Phoenix? 

SoCal Hard 8s (2-12, 7 points): How will the youth movement fare? Newly acquired Cailyn Campbell (acquired from the St. Louis Shock for Judit Castillo) will likely be paired with Jalina Ingram to form a totally teenager women’s team. 

Utah Black Diamonds (6-9, 19 points): Allyce Jones has electrified this team with her passion. Can they maintain their playoff position?

Atlanta Bouncers, Carolina Hogs, Chicago Slice, Dallas Flash, Miami Pickleball Club, New Jersey 5s, New York Hustlers, Orlando Squeeze, St. Louis Shock and Texas Ranchers.  

All 6 Challenger teams will be competing – top 2 storylines:

• Can the Las Vegas Night Owls keep their undefeated season going?

• Are the second place Nashville Chefs the team to push them or will another team vault up the standings?  

Marquee matchups:

• Friday, June 27th @ 4:15pm Pacific: Los Angeles Mad Drops vs. Brooklyn Pickleball Team: two teams vying for a top 4 spot in the standings in a match that may be impacted by injuries (and in this case it’s not on the Mad Drops side). 

• Sunday, June 29th @ 10am Pacific: Los Angeles Mad Drops vs. Columbus Sliders: A prove it matchup – the winner of this one could show their team belongs in discussion of the elite teams in MLP.

• Challenger play begins on Thursday, June 26, with Premier teams hitting the court on Friday, June 27.

• Play on Toray Championship Court starts at 12pm Pacific on Thursday, June 26, 11am Pacific on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, and 10am Pacific on Sunday, June 29.
