Waters, Parenteau make quick work of singles opponents, advance to Round of 16
SAN CLEMENTE, CA - Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau dominated their respective singles opponents at the Select Medical Orange County Cup presented by FitVine Wines on Wednesday.
Top-seeded Waters defeated No. 28 Pierina Imparato 11-1, 11-3 in 31 minutes at Life Time Rancho San Clemente, cruising to a straight-game triumph.
Second-seeded Parenteau, meanwhile, needed just 23 minutes to defeat No. 26 Madalina Grigoriu 11-3, 11-4.
Both Waters and Parenteau will compete in Round of 16 singles action on Thursday.
No. 3 Lea Jansen also punched her ticket to the next round with an easy 11-3, 11-2 victory over No. 30 Angie Walker.
