
Waters, Parenteau withdraw from singles at Veolia North Carolina Open
Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau withdrew from women's singles at this week’s Veolia North Carolina Open on Tuesday.
Waters was seeded first in the event, while Parenteau was seeded seventh.
Waters was the defending gold medalist in women's singles at the tournament and Parenteau was the defending silver medalist.
Both players are still scheduled to play mixed doubles on Thursday and women's doubles on Friday.
The news of Waters and Parenteau's withdrawal from singles comes after Ben Johns made a similar announcement on Monday.
Waters claimed her 50th career women's singles title on the PPA Tour at the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open in Utah.
Main draw action from Cary Tennis Park begins on Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET on Pickleballtv.
