Local Pickleball Players Set Their Sights on Smashing a Guiness World Record - 36 Hours of Pickleball for a Purpose

Are you feeling a little tired after that 3-hour Open Play you just left or the 7-hour time span at the tournament you just finished? Now imagine playing for 36 hours straight, with only a 5-minute break for every hour played.

That's what four passionate players, calling themselves "The Pickle Breakers", are planning to attempt next month in hopes of breaking the Guiness World Record for "Longest Marathon Rally Playing Pickleball".

Their mission? Not just to bring the title back to the U.S.—where pickleball was born—but to rally for a cause far greater: mental health awareness.

The current record—34 hours and 5 minutes—was set in the UK, but The Pickle Breakers aren’t just aiming to beat it, they plan to shatter it with a bold 36-hour mixed doubles format April 12- 13th at Pickler Universe in Carrollton, Texas.

This is personal for two of The Pickle Breakers who have tragically lost friends and family and have felt first-hand how pickleball has become more than a game; it's a lifeline.

This World Record attempt is proud to partner with Taylor’s Gift Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Coppell, TX. Its mission is to provide organ and tissue donor families with free grief support after the loss of their loved one.

Know How You Rate - Find a DUPR Session Near You

If you've joined this amazing game, you've most certainly heard the term "DUPR". DUPR is the gold standard for pickleball ratings.

All new players start as NR (Not Rated) and progress through a scale ranging from 2.000 to 8.000. Your rating updates automatically every time match results are shared with DUPR.

One of the best ways to develop a starting rating or build match data for a reliabile rating is to join a DUPR Session. Over the course of just a few hours, you can complete from 6-10 pickleball matches that are seamlessly uploaded to your DUPR account where your rating is instantly updated.

To find a DUPR Session near you, click on the Search 🔍 icon and type in "DUPR Session". All results related to DUPR Sessions will be listed for you.

How to Join a Club on Pickleball.com

Want to join your favorite clubs on pickleball.com? We've made it super simple for you to join a club and for a club to welcome you.

Navigate to PickleballClubs.com or the Clubs section on pickleball.com and search for the club you'd like to join.

Select the club from your search and then click on "Become a Member". If the club has free or paid membership plans, you can select the plan you'd like. If no approval is required, you'll see Pickles the dog with a confirmation message!

How to Register for a Tournament Without a Partner

Want to play in a tournament but don't have a partner? Tournaments running on PickleballTournaments.com make it easy for players to register without a partner and find players looking for a partner.

Navigate to pickleballtournaments.com, find the tournament you'd like to play in and look for the button Find a Partner on the tournament page. Click the button to search the list of players looking for a partner. You can also register without a partner so you are added to this list for others to search for and find you too!
