Every time pickleball cracked the SportsCenter Top 10

Pro pickleball may still have its skeptics and critics, but moments like these show just how far the sport has come. When pickleball highlights make the SportsCenter Top 10, it not only validates the level of play, but also puts the incredible skill in our game in front of a massive audience.

Here’s a look at every time pickleball has cracked the coveted Top 10.

Most recently, Eric Oncins checked in at No. 4 after pulling off an impressive behind-the-back winner in men’s doubles at the SXY Newport Beach Open.

This shot is a refreshing addition to the lineup because, for a long time, the decision-makers at ESPN seemed to have a clear favorite: the ATP.

As a result, nearly every previous pickleball highlight featured a skillful, but familiar around-the-post shot, a play that has now become almost routine on the pro tour.prior is a skillful, but repetitive, around-the-post that is now so mainstream on tour.

Jack Sock claimed the No. 1 spot on the Top 10 with this ATP during MLP. The angle he creates on the shot is unbelievably impressive, but what makes the moment even better is his opponent Tyler Loong’s quick reaction, leaping out of the way to avoid getting drilled by the rocket coming off Sock’s paddle.

During his first-ever pickleball tournament in 2023, Sock landed at No. 5 on the Top 10 with a highlight-reel tweener. In hindsight, it was an early sign that Sock was going to be a game changer in pro pickleball. After all, not many players make the Top 10 in their very first tournament.

The next few Top 10 appearances feature plenty of ATPs.

Jaume Martinez Vich landed at No. 5 on the Top 10 with an impressive ATP in men’s singles.

The pro pickleball G.O.A.T. has made a few appearances on the SportsCenter Top 10.

Ben Johns claimed the No. 5 spot with this ATP.

Johns made the list again with this impressive tweener in men's doubles.

Catherine Parenteau is currently the only female player to appear on the SportsCenter Top 10.

She earned the No. 8 spot with this ATP in women’s doubles.

Dekel Bar snagged the No. 9 spot with this ATP in men's doubles during MLP.

Former pro James Ignatowich was one of the most popular pros featured on the Top 10 ranking.

Ignatowich secured the coveted No. 1 spot with a backhanded ATP in mixed doubles.

This men's doubles highlight landed Ignatowich in the No. 3 spot.

Jay Devilliers made the No. 6 spot with this beautiful behind the back shot during MLP.

Former pro pickleball player Collin Shick, who later announced his retirement to attend medical school, snagged the No. 4 spot with this incredible point.

His opponent, Tyson McGuffin, had Shick sprinting all over the court, putting Shick’s athleticism fully on display.
