Querrey to miss extended time with ruptured achilles
DALLAS, TX - It looks like it’ll be a while before we see Sam Querrey back on a pickleball court. The former tennis star ruptured his achilles in he and Wes Burrows’ men’s doubles match against Cason Campbell and Mouaad Alhouni at the Selkirk Red Rock Open.
The injury happened late in Game 2 of the first-round encounter when he quickly changed directions running up to the kitchen line.
Querrey underwent surgery on Wednesday and, despite the challenge of recovery ahead of him, the former Wimbledon semifinalist assures his fans that he’ll be back with a vengeance.
“The return will be one for the ages,” he wrote on Instagram.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Sam.
