Thomas, Brittany Wilson announce second adoption: 'A blessing and answered prayer'

Thomas Wilson and his wife Brittany have had a complicated year.

Between health issues that kept Wilson off the court and an adopted one-year-old at home, life changed a lot for this growing family.

But in the wake of Wilson's recent help update that revealed a diagnosis and hope for a solution, the couple took to Instagram again to share some more good news with their supporters.

“We’ve gone through years of infertility, many surgeries and a lot of heartbreak, and we ended up adopting this incredible baby girl, Holyn, and we cannot imagine life without her,” began Thomas.

Given the happiness Holyn brought to their lives, Thomas and Brittany were interested in adding another bundle of joy into the mix.

“A couple of months ago, we were talking one night about wanting to grow our little family, but we weren’t sure how. Through the Lord’s prompting, we started looking into fostering or adopting again and started seeking God on His plans for our family,” said Brittany. “That very next morning, we got a call from our adoption agency that Holyn’s birth mom notified them that she was pregnant again. She specifically asked if they would reach out to us and see if we would be willing to adopt this baby as well.”

Brittany called this, “A blessing and answered prayer. Something that fell right into our laps, but all part of God’s plan and timing for our family.”

So, their second child is officially on the way.

“Baby is due in June, but will probably be here in May. Holyn was born about four weeks early, so we’re assuming baby might be born a little early too,” said Brittany.“Holyn’s going to have a full-blood sibling, which we are so excited about. It is such an answered prayer for her and for our family to be able to go through the adoption process again and for Holyn to grow up with a sibling.”

“It’s a little quicker than we thought,” admitted Thomas. “They’re going to be a year-and-a-half apart, so we’re going to have two under two, so we’re for sure freaking out. But, we’re incredibly excited.”

The Wilsons headed to Indianapolis for a doctor’s appointment to learn the gender of the baby.

Thomas thinks it will be a boy, but I think we all could see him being a full-blown girl dad.
