Originally from Boca Raton, FL, Tyra Black comes from a family with a rich tennis tradition. With parents who excelled in the sport—her father, Sylvester Black, played for the Jamaican Davis Cup team, and her sister, Tornado Alicia Black, is also a talented tennis player—Black naturally gravitated towards tennis herself.
In her professional tennis career, Black achieved success on the ITF Tour, clinching titles in both singles and doubles tournaments. Despite her achievements in tennis, Black recently discovered a new passion for pickleball. Winning her first tournament in the sport stands out as one of her fondest memories.
Beyond the court, Black enjoys immersing herself in nature. Hiking and exploring various nature parks are among her favorite pastimes. Her love for the outdoors complements her athletic pursuits, providing balance and fulfillment in her life.
