Pickleball wedding chapel: The most romantic venue of all
Am I the only one who’s seeing pickleball at every wedding ceremony, reception, and bachelorette party?
I’m in the season of my life where I practically have a wedding every month, but there’s a clear trend in the wedding industry that has no signs of slowing down.
There's a church that’s currently under construction to be converted into a pickleball facility in Dayton, OH. But one key element absolutely struck me.
The facility owner, Kim DeLong, told Dayton Daily News that she would like to lease out a chapel on-site for “church-style weddings.”
This is a real thing. Pickleball weddings. On a pickleball court.

Did you ever meet a new doubles partner and instantly develop exquisite court chemistry? Your communication is stellar, you’re not letting those pesky balls fly down the middle untouched, and you both have the same DUPR?
Have I finally found the one?
Then you find yourself thinking, 'Hey, why don’t we do this for life?'
Well, now there’s an on-site chapel for pickleball fanatics to tie the knot right there on the court.
This is like the pickleball version of a Vegas wedding chapel, which could be just as successful or disastrous as those chapels. At least at a pickleball chapel, you’re guaranteed to have something major in common.
I can only imagine the amount of doubles partners that could get into some trouble there. After the competition high of a win and the endorphins are flowing, let’s just run over to the chapel and commit to this partnership forever. We’ll wear white court shoes and my new JOOLA will be my bouquet. The bridesmaids will be my women’s doubles partners. And the officiant will be my coach.
Just think about the vows.
Coming together in perfect matrimony, I commit to drilling your backhand even though I never need to work on mine. And I promise to let you lob whenever you want. And best of all, I’ll gladly learn and adopt your pickleball love language.
But in all seriousness, I think a pickleball wedding chapel is going to be a major success. With wedding season in full swing, every year people are getting less and less traditional with their wedding ceremonies and receptions. And if the pickleball court is a part of your love story, why not incorporate it on your big day?
All over my Instagram feed, I’m seeing bachelorette parties and wedding receptions where newlyweds are incorporating pickleball into their love story. Whether it’s a tournament between the bridal parities or a bridal photoshoot on the pickleball court, people want pickleball to be a feature in their wedding.
Is pickleball going to be the hottest wedding trend in 2025? I’ll report back after wedding season. But between wedding sweepstakes at pickleball facilities and countless weddings that creatively incorporate pickleball, the people want to get married on a pickleball court.
All I can think about is how fun it would be to walk down the aisle, change into a cute little white tennis dress, and dink around before the reception. Isn’t that a wedding we all want to go to?
I think I need to take a trip up to Dayton with my doubles partner. Time to commit to this partnership for life.
