Le Pickle Club: French flare apparel for pickleball players
If we can’t spend our summer playing pickleball in the countryside of France, we might as well dress like it.
Le Pickle Club is a pickleball apparel company that is garnering lots of positive attention for its effortlessly chic aesthetic inspired by the most sophisticated culture in fashion – the French.
Founders and twin sisters, Sara Brady and Ashley Cornil, gave me the inside scoop about their fabulous pickleball clothing line.
“We wanted to create something that had that French, chic, effortless style,” said Cornil.
As avid pickleball players themselves who played tennis growing up, they always admired the high-end fashion on the tennis court. So why not bring that sophistication to the pickleball court? They sensed an opportunity and went for it.
“A lot of brands do tennis apparel extremely well, but we saw the void in the pickleball market,” explained Cornil.
“Fashion for us is at the center of getting ready for a match. It’s that mental state that if you look and feel good, you’re going to play well,” added Brady.
Like all fashion, Le Pickle Club’s clothing tells a story about the person wearing it.
“Le Pickle Club’s aesthetic is the casual cool of pickleball. It’s the idea that I’m going to show you my attitude through my clothing. We bring a sense of sophistication, but also a little bit of that kind of energy where we’re not trying too hard,” described Brady.
“It’s very much the French girl who’s put together, might be minimal, but also comes with sophistication. It's the kind of energy where you feel good about yourself. That’s what we want to evoke on the court, too. You want to step onto the court and have that sense of sophistication about your outfit and game,” she continued.
“Sophistication translates to effortless confidence because if you feel good, you’re going to be confident in whatever you do. I think it’s the effortlessness of the designs, they’re not too overworked. They just have that French je ne sais quoi,” emphasized Cornil.
Sure, we all want to be the chic French woman. But, why France? What is the link for Brady and Cornil?
“I’m married to a Frenchman and his family still resides in France, so we’ve spent every summer in the South of France visiting family. It became our jumping off point, and we’ve woven it into our brand and tried to capture that French allure,” said Cornil.
The original collection from Le Pickle Club features a bold lineup of minimalistic and clean styles featuring a bright red, royal blue, and white color pallet. However, they recently launched a new collection called La Fleur that they are particularly excited about.
“We used a flower motif for the collection and it gives it this vintage feel. We also incorporated a lot of pastels that are just lighter, brighter, and a bit different than our original collection. This one is softer, more spring and summertime,” shared Cornil.
And if you adore pickleball, you might as well look très belle on the court.
