H. Jansen Triple Crowns as PPA Challenger Series hosts first event
The PPA Challenger Series powered by JOOLA hosted its first event over the weekend, with over 300 players competing at Cayce Pickleball Complex in Cayce, SC.
Helena Jansen was one of those players, and she certainly left her mark on the Palmetto State.
Jansen earned a Triple Crown in the inaugural Challenger Series event, capturing gold in women’s singles, women’s doubles with Pierina Imparato, and mixed doubles with James Delgado.
She will be back competing on the main PPA Tour schedule at this week’s Veolia North Carolina Open, where she’ll play women’s singles, women’s doubles with Zoey Weil, and mixed doubles again with Delgado.
Elsewhere, Christopher Crouch/Jhonnatan Medina Alvarez took home the men’s doubles title, while Luca Mack earned gold in men’s singles.
There are 14 more stops on the Challenger Series Tour where players can earn points that go towards their rankings.
The four players with the most rankings points throughout the season will qualify for the PPA Challenger Showdown, which will take place at the 2025 Pickleball World Championships this November in Dallas, Texas.
The winners of the PPA Challenger Showdown in each event will be awarded a PPA Tour contract.
The Challenger Series will take to Louisiana this week with the Baton Rouge PPA Challenger.
