McGuffin, Schaefer withdraw from Carvana Mesa Cup presented by Proton
Tyson McGuffin and Dominique Schaefer won't be participating in the upcoming Carvana Mesa Cup presented by Proton at the Arizona Athletic Grounds.
McGuffin withdrew from the PPA tournament due to injury, while Schaefer is battling illness.
McGuffin was scheduled to play singles, men's doubles with Dekel Bar, and mixed doubles with Lacy Schneemann.
He most recently competed at the Proton Australia Pickleball Open earlier this month where he claimed gold in men's doubles and mixed doubles, and silver in singles.
Schaefer, meanwhile, was scheduled to play singles, women's doubles with Genie Erokhina, and mixed doubles with Zane Ford.
She most recently competed at the Proton Tucson Open where she reached the quarterfinals in singles.
Even with McGuffin and Schaefer on the sidelines, the Carvana Mesa Cup presented by Proton still boasts a star-studded field featuring the likes of Anna Leigh Waters, Federico Staksrud, and Ben Johns.
