Steve Doocy tests his game at Pickler Universe ahead of MLP Playoffs
Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy made a stop at Pickler Universe in Carrollton, TX on Friday morning, just hours before the start of the MLP Playoffs.
Doocy caught up with Dallas Flash players Augie Ge and Brooke Buckner ahead of their first-round matchup against the Las Vegas Night Owls.
"We are so excited to be playing at home in Dallas this weekend," said Buckner. "Some of the best players in the world are playing here in a team format, which definitely makes things more exciting."
The playoff slate in Texas also features Brooklyn Pickleball Team vs. SoCal Hard Eights, Palm Beach Royals vs. Chicago Slice, and Texas Ranchers vs. Atlanta Bouncers.
Doocy didn’t just talk pickleball—he stepped onto the court to experience it firsthand.
Teaming up with Buckner, he squared off in a mixed doubles game against JW Johnson and Danni-Elle Townsend.
"Brooke, what is the deal where people say, 'Oh, it's just pickleball. It's not as hard as tennis!'" mentioned Doocy. "This is much harder than tennis."
"It's different than tennis," replied Buckner, who was impressed with Doocy's skills. "You could play for us this weekend. Can you be here at 5pm tonight?"
Fans can catch every match from Pickler Universe live on Pickleballtv and the Pickleballtv App starting on Friday at 3pm ET.
