Dive into Tyson McGuffin's world with Making McGuffins on YouTube, PickleballTV
DALLAS, TX – I’d like to petition for every pro pickleball player to film and document their lives... because I’m obsessed.
Going behind the scenes with professional athletes is always intriguing, especially in pickleball – a sport with endless cross-country travel and little to no offseason at all.
Enter veteran pro and larger-than-life personality Tyson McGuffin, who hits a major home run with his vlog documentary, Making McGuffins. McGuffin is featured alongside his wife, Megan, and their four young children.
Viewers can watch Making McGuffins on YouTube, and PickleballTV is also featuring episodes as well.

Unlike the Brascia Nation documentary or Breaking Pickleball, Making McGuffins is more casual with a fast-paced editing style. It’s still edited beautifully, of course, but it feels unedited in a natural way.
This makes the overall feel of the episodes vulnerable and honest. From inside looks at tournament experiences nationwide to sweet moments from home, Making McGuffins provides outstanding content sure to entertain.
One of my favorite parts of the series is that McGuffin's fellow pros make appearances, too. Usually, they’re getting together to practice. It was cool to see Dekel Bar, Meghan Dizon, Christian Alshon, and even Jaume Martinez Vich playing with the McGuffin kiddos.
We typically see players when they’re in the zone, preparing to compete, so this was a nice change.
I also loved watching McGuffin talk to his coach and strategize during a match. I’m aways so curious about how pros go about their business against opponents they play again and again. Strategy chatter is usually kept relatively tight-lipped, so footage of those discussions was genuinely insightful.
If there was one thing I walked away with from watching Making McGuffins, it's that pro pickleball spouses deserve gold medals of their own. Meg is a superstar!
There’s a lot to say about these women, especially if kids are involved. While McGuffin is doing recovery therapy or going to Mesa, AZ early for a pickleball video game shoot, Megan is holding down the fort at home. And when plans suddenly change with zero notice, she always steps up to the plate and delivers.
While professional athletes generally have their fair share of special moments over the course of their respective careers, there's also an incredible amount of work and financial sacrifice involved along the way. But, they love their craft. That much is true.
When it comes to filming and putting your life online, there'll always be people with something negative to say, so kudos to Tyson and Megan for being bold with Making McGuffins and giving viewers a peek into their world.
It’s no wonder "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports" recently won the Male Content Creator of the Year Award in conjunction with the 2024 Pickleball.com Mid-Season Awards.
Bottom line, Making McGuffins is fun to watch.
