Standings Shuffle: Staksrud back on top in singles, Patriquin surges in men’s doubles
DALLAS, TX - With the latest tournament in northern California in the books, let’s take a look at who moved up in the latest PPA Tour rankings.
Men’s Doubles
The biggest mover of the week is Hayden Patriquin. By capturing his first PPA title, the 18-year-old moved from No. 25 to No. 15 in men’s doubles. His partner in Sacramento, Federico Staksrud, moved from No. 6 to No. 5 and is now Top 5 in both men’s singles and men’s doubles.
Men’s Singles
With his fifth singles gold of 2024, Staksrud has once again claimed the No. 1 ranking in the event. He overtook Ben Johns, who did not play singles in the California capital.
JW Johnson is back into the Top 10 in singles after making his first final of the year, moving from No. 11 to No. 9.
Women’s Singles
Dominique Schaefer had a strong showing in Sacramento, picking up wins against Lauren Stratman and Mary Brascia on her way to a fourth-place finish. That run moves her from No. 15 to No. 13.
Kaitlyn Christian is into the Top 10 after making the Round of 16, which moved her from No. 12 to No. 10.
Mixed Doubles
Gabriel Tardio continues to move up the rankings in men’s mixed doubles. He moved from No. 19 to No. 17 after making the quarterfinals with Jessie Irvine, who remains in the No. 5 spot in the women’s rankings.
