Kate Fahey talks wedding celebration: 'It truly was the best weekend of my life'
Kate Fahey married Charlie Gravina in early October.
Coincidentally, the wedding was held on the exact same day that Gabe Joseph and Aanik Lohani married their significant others as well.
At the Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships, Fahey shared the inside scoop about her nuptials in New Jersey.
“It honestly sounds so cliché, but it truly was the best weekend of my life. I was trying to be in the moment with my husband and having everyone there was just so much fun,” shared Fahey. “The weather was perfect, and everyone had such a good time. It was exactly what we wanted.”
The couple said “I do” at a picturesque location on a family friend's farm.

So what was Fahey’s favorite moment from the day?
“Walking down the aisle with my dad. I was sobbing,” she recalled. “It was honestly really embarrassing. I was so emotional and I couldn’t stop crying. It was just the most surreal moment of my life.”
Fahey explained that her father, Tom, was a little choked up, too, when they did a first look and she gave him a handkerchief with a handwritten note on it.
Tom kept the handkerchief with him throughout the entire event.
“He got emotional, but when we were walking down the aisle, I was crying so much that he felt like he had to keep it together,” she mentioned with a chuckle. “We said our vows in front of everyone during the ceremony, and I was so nervous. But reading them out in front of everyone was so raw and beautiful. Everyone was crying. If anyone’s getting married, I would definitely say your vows in front of everyone. It was a really cool moment.”
Another exciting moment was seeing Fahey all dolled up.
She wore a silk backless halter wedding dress with white heels and carried a beautiful bouquet.
“That dress was so comfortable. I didn’t have to pull on it all night. It just really fit me great, and I loved how it was just so simple and elegant,” noted Fahey. “It was really fun to get dressed up because everyone only sees me in some tinted sunscreen for matches. No one has really seen me in full makeup.”
Some fellow St. Louis Shock (MLP) teammates were in attendance, including Gabe Tardio, Hayden Patriquin and Anna Bright, who even vlogged the whole day.
“Gabe and Hayden didn’t even own a suit before the wedding,” said Fahey. “So they got matching suits, head-to-toe, and they wanted to initially wear sneakers to the wedding and I told them they weren’t allowed.”
Tina Pisnik and her wife, Maya, were also there, along with Brooke Buckner and her husband Adam.
Fortunately, everyone brought serious energy to the dance floor at the reception.
“It was so much fun having them there for something outside of pickleball, too,” added Fahey.
So what are the newlyweds' honeymoon plans?
“We went on a mini-moon to Tennessee right after our wedding, but we’re doing our full honeymoon in December in the British Virgin Islands,” revealed Fahey. “It’ll be so great to just relax, enjoy our time together, and take some time away from pickleball.”
