The hottest male pickleball players
A list ranking the hottest male pickleball pros recently went viral.
It was good content for discussion, of course, and the Pickleballers and King of the Court podcasts debated the rankings on their respective platforms.
This is not to say that these men don’t belong on the list, but there’s obviously plenty of room for back-and-forth exchange on the subject.
And as a straight woman, I have lots of authority to agree and disagree with the ranking.
Here’s the list:
4. Augie Ge
I think the top five is pretty solid.
We’ve got a good variety of clean shaven versus facial hair, charming personalities, and showmen on the court.
9. Michael Loyd
10. Gabe Joseph
Another solid group of guys. We have that artistic and cool energy from Loyd and Joseph, and the wholesome, all-American appeal from Frazier, Johnson, and Garnett.
11. Pablo Tellez
12. Ben Johns
14. Jack Sock
15. Noe Khlif
This next batch of men is when I start to realize there’s some people missing from this list.
16. Mohanad Alhouni
17. JW Johnson
19. Quang Duong
20. Rafa Hewett
And now that we’ve made it to the end of the list, I have a bone to pick with the writers.
The ranking is based on who had the most votes, but only 1,600 votes were cast. That number is drastically small compared to the massive number of pickleball players in the world. So, I’d say the pool of this poll is a bit too small to claim these are the hottest pros.
The list also used random pictures from the pros' Instagram accounts. Some of them are great, but others leave a lot to be desired. For example, Ben Johns’ hair looks like he just rolled out of bed. Dylan Frazier is half blinking. And Roscoe Bellamy is serving face like a model in his photo.
Additionally – and this is no offense to any of these studly pro pickleball men currently on the list – but there’s some big names missing.
What about Jay Devilliers? The 30-year-old "Flying Frenchman" is textbook tall, dark, and handsome. His French accent alone should put him on the list. Ladies love an accent. And I think he’s one of the only male pros who can pull off a headband look.
Tyler Loong is also notably missing. He has been rocking some muscle tees that showcase his workout routine. And he has the incredible ability to look good with shaggy long brown hair and a bleached blond hairdo. He should be on the list for his hair versatility.
Hayden Patriquin is also missing. Patriquin has this Justin Bieber cool factor about him that should absolutely give him a spot on the list. He’s clean cut and has an air of confidence.
Also, how can we have Hunter Johnson on the list and not Yates Johnson? They’re literally identical twin brothers. They look exactly alike. That just seems wrong. And bonus points to Yates for having longer flippy hair, too.
And what about DJ Young? He looks like he could be a Love Island bombshell with tattoos and a beard. And when the voters find out he’s also a girl dad? That is hot list material.
Pat Smith, Max Freeman, James Ignatowich, Martin Emmrich, and so many others were missing. I think this list needs some amendments. Justice for all the handsome pickleball pros.
