Best dressed at the Select Medical Orange County Cup
With every PPA tournament, the pro pickleball fashion game is consistently elevated.
And we’re also seeing some players taking risks with unique patterns and color combos that help them stand out in a sea of tennis dresses for women and JOOLA polos for men.
Here are the best dressed pros from the Select medical Orange County Cup:

Is it even a Best Dressed List without Black making an appearance?
I absolutely adore this vibrant blue Wilson set on Black. The color is beautiful, and I love the retro white stripes on the bottom of the pleated skirt. Black paired this outfit with a simple white visor, white sports bra that peaked out from the sides of the top, her go-to pearl necklace, and a white ribbon in her hair. Just too cute.

Parenteau’s all-white ensemble really stood out to me mainly because of the styling. Where so many good outfits fail is the poor styling with mis-matching accessories like black shoes with green socks. Parenteau paired her high-slit white tennis dress (here’s a similar style from Beyond Yoga) with all-white accessories, including her hat, sweatband, shoes, and socks. Even her black and white Selkirk matches. A pristine look for the pro.

This year, Alshon has been wearing a lot of Mizuno gear and their unique colors and patterns are bringing some extra flare to his court attire. I always appreciate a matching set, and Alshon paired this black and red patterned look with a black and red hat from Paddletek. I wish his compression sleeve was also black for maximum cohesion, but we can’t win them all. Still, a cool look from Alshon.

The men’s singles champ from the Select Medical Orange County Cup looked stellar in this polo from Wilson. The bright blue photographs beautifully against the court, and he paired it with an ensemble of blue and white. The entire fit is classically cool with a pop of pattern from the briefs. Overall, it’s an excellent look.

Another Best Dressed List regular, Bouchard wore a lilac New Balance athletic dress that also perfectly matched her court shoes. I mean, come on. What more could we really ask for? This is just a darling ensemble.
Tyra Hurricane Black and Parris Todd
I call this minty perfection. While Black and Todd compared this color to a celery stick, I personally love it. The color is fresh and completely unique to the usual black, white, red, and blue color pallets that dominate the pro court. These spearmint green sets from Alo are so flattering, and I love the peekaboo cut out on the top. Incredibly cute.

Johnson is always bringing something visually interesting with her court fashion, and this little black athletic dress with white piping is a standout look. Though I tragically have no idea where she found it, this style is extremely trendy. Anthropologie, Old Navy, Alo Yoga and Amazon all have similar styles that are on trend like Johnson.
If there’s one thing we can rely on, it’s Kovalova showing up in style. This burgundy red tennis dress from Nike is absolutely stunning on her. And she smartly styled her bold fit with a white visor and white shoes. Another notable detail is that the skirt has mesh pleats to add a little bit of extra visual interest to the dress. Too cute.

As a SoCal local, Joseph brought that California cool style to the pro pickleball court. For this tournament, he went with this Americana theme that stood out so positively. Though I wish I knew where this fit was from, this Team USA polo (here’s a similar style from Ralph Lauren) is incredibly unique, and he paired it with black shorts with gray stars from Chubbies and American flag briefs. Talk about making a bold statement – I love it.
Mary Brascia and Maggie Brascia

The Brascias are sisters but they look like twins when they play women’s doubles together. This coordination is always perfect, and they decided to brighten things up in these matching raspberry fitted pink skirts from Lululemon. They also matched their accessories with high neck fitted tank tops, white shoes, black hats, and black sunglasses. These two win for partnership coordination.

Startman could’ve joined the Brascia sisters with her look, only she opted for a pleated raspberry pink skirt similar to this skirt from Under Armor that had such incredible movement on the court. Just look at her photo – stunning. And she styles it with a fitted black v-neck, black visor, black sunglasses, and white shoes. Absolutely adorable.

Staksrud has ditched Adidas and run back to JOOLA – which means his fashion game is getting a refresh. I'm happy to see that because Adidas didn’t give Staksrud a tracksuit and that’s an utter tragedy in my humble opinion. Anyway, the standout look from Staksrud was the khaki shorts paired with a white tee, white high shocks, white shoes, and a white hat. It’s so clean and fresh. It feels good to see Staksrud back in JOOLA.
Honorable mentions
Leigh Waters in Gucci

Coach Waters WILL show up in Gucci – but she gets extra points when she color coordinates with Anna Leigh Waters. The burnt orange color is gorgeous against the San Clemente backdrop.
JW Johnson in a bro tank
Okay, we see your pro pickleball guns! And you’re avoiding a farmer’s tan? Even better.
