3 things to watch for on Friday at the Veolia Bristol Open
Main draw action from the Veolia Bristol Open continues Friday with men’s and women’s doubles, with both draws being played through the quarterfinal round.

Now, let’s get into what to watch for:
- Pat Smith has withdrawn from men’s doubles with an injury. He and Roscoe Bellamy were set to be the No. 20 seeds, so now No. 16 seeds Hunter Johnson/Yates Johnson will advance to the Round of 16, where they will most likely face No. 2 seeds Federico Staksrud/Hayden Patriquin. The twins haven’t played a tournament together since the Kansas City Open in August of 2024.
- Staying in in the men’s doubles draw, there are several notable first-time partnerships that will take the court in Bristol. Those include No. 5 seeds Noe Khlif/Dylan Frazier, No. 4 seeds James Delgado/Collin Johns, No. 3 seeds Andrei Daescu/JW Johnson, No. 8 seeds Eric Oncins/Pablo Tellez, and No. 11 seeds Tyson McGuffin/Max Freeman. Those last two pairings could face off in the Round of 16, if they both make it that far.
- In the women’s doubles draw, Catherine Parenteau and Rachel Rohrabacher are taking a tournament off as a partnership after playing together in Atlanta and San Clemente. Parenteau is teaming up with Jackie Kawamoto this week, while Rohrabacher is joining forces with Jorja Johnson. This will be Rohrabacher/Johnson’s first time playing together since the 2024 Las Vegas Cup, where they took bronze. The No. 2 seeds will be looking for more in Tennessee.
Live broadcast coverage from Bristol Sportsplex begins at 11am ET on Pickleballtv.
