3:40 p.m. CT: Fahey outduels Christian in three games

Kate Fahey battled past No. 3 seed Kaitlyn Christian 11-13, 13-11, 11-5 in one of the matches of the day so far at the Baird Center.

Fahey watched as four game points came and went as Christian stole Game 1, but the No. 6 seed showcased her own resilience in Game 2 by saving a match point and eventually evening the match.

Like she had done in her previous bout against Anna Bright, Fahey jumped out to a big lead early in Game 3 that allowed her to comfortably close out the encounter.

Score card showing Kate Fahey's 11-13, 13-11, 11-5 victory over Kaitlyn Christian.

She'll take on either No. 7 seed Judit Castillo or No. 20 seed Jessie Irvine in the semifinals.

3:20 p.m. CT: Jansen's retirement send Todd into semifinals

Parris Todd is into the women's singles semifinals after Lea Jansen was forced to retire from their quarterfinal match.

Jansen—a Type I diabetic who has been open about her health struggles—took a lengthy medical timeout in Game 1 before Todd won 11-3.

Jansen gained an early lead in the second game but ended up calling it with Todd leading 5-4.

This result sets Todd—the No. 5 seed this week—up to face No. 8 seed Zoey Wang with a spot in the finals on the line.

2:45 p.m. CT: Wang surges into semis, ends My. Brascia's PPA Finals hopes

Zoey Wang booked her spot in the women's singles semifinals after an 11-8, 11-0 victory over No. 4 seed Mary Brascia

This win, as good as it is for Wang, is perhaps more important for Brascia: it officially ends her chances of making the CIBC PPA Tour Finals set Dec. 5-8 in San Clemente, CA.

The eight players with the most women’s singles rankings points throughout the calendar year qualify for the event, and Brascia was in ninth place coming into this week.

She needed to make at least the semifinals to have a shot at passing Parris Todd for the final spot, so this loss ends her chances.

Wang—the No. 8 seed this week—will face the either Lea Jansen or Parris Todd with a spot in Sunday’s championhip on the line.

2:00 p.m. CT: Harvey continues run, downs Hewett in three games

Adam Harvey is into his first career PPA semifinal after a 6-11, 13-11, 11-9 victory over No. 7 seed Rafa Hewett

The No. 30 seed saved a match point at 10-11 in the second game and impressively held his nerve down the stretch to earn his second three-game win in Milwaukee.

Score card showing Adam Harvey's 6-11, 13-11, 11-9 victory over Rafa Hewett.

Harvey is having himself quite the day, with wins over No. 3 seed Dylan Frazier and No. 13 seed Blaine Hovenier just to make the quarterfinals.

The road doesn't get any easier for the 23-year-old from Minnesota, however; next up for Harvey is a battle against top seed Federico Staksrud for a chance to play on Championship Sunday.

1:35 p.m. CT: Fahey outlasts MLP teammate Bright in fiery affair

Kate Fahey booked her spot in the women's singles quarterfinals with an 11-5, 3-11, 11-5 victory over No. 19 seed Anna Bright, her teammate on the St. Louis Shock

Bright caught fire after dropping the first game and played a very clean Game 2, but Fahey jumped out to an 8-2 advantage in the third and rode that lead to the win.

Unsurprisingly, this encounter featuring two of the most competitive players on tour was filled with lots of yelling from both sides.

After the match, though, there were no hard feelings between the MLP partners.

"We're both used to having to play our friends," Fahey mentioned. "It happens a lot here on tour, and it takes a lot of maturity to be there and smile after the match, so kudos to [Anna]."

Fahey will next face either No. 3 seed Kaitlyn Christian or No. 25 seed Meghan Dizon with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

1:30 p.m. CT: Duong wthdraws, citing knee injury

Quang Duong is the latest player to withdraw from Thursday's singles competition.

The No. 2 seed withdrew ahead of his quarterfinal clash with No. 5 seed Pablo Tellez, citing a knee injury.

It is unknown if Duong will still compete in this week's doubles divisions. He is set to play mixed doubles with Tina Pisnik and men's doubles with Dylan Frazier

Now into the semifinals, Tellez will face either No. 4 seed Hunter Johnson or No. 11 seed Michael Loyd for a spot in Sunday’s final.

12:45 p.m. CT: Staksrud overcomes qualifier Protzek in three games

Federico Staksrud is into the men's singles quarterfinals, but he sure had to battle to get there.

He defeated No. 48 seed Tom Protzek 8-11, 11-4, 11-0 on Grandstand Court in one of the day's longer matches so far.

Score card showing Federico Staksrud's 8-11, 11-4, 11-0 victory over Tom Protzek.

Protzek—who came through Wednesday's qualifying draw—had already taken down Ivan Jakovljevic and Ross Whittaker on Thursday, but Staksrud ended his run in three games.

The top seed will next face No. 35 seed Zane Ford—who is coming off wins over Aanik Lohani and Noe Khlif—for a spot in the semifinals.

12:10 p.m. CT: Bright outduels Bouchard, sets clash with Fahey

Anna Bright started Milwaukee campaign off on a positive note coming away with a 12-10, 11-7 victory over No. 11 seed Genie Bouchard.

This is Bright’s first singles tournament since August, but she showed no signs of rust in her first match back.

This victory sets the No. 19 seed up to play No. 6 seed Kate Fahey, her MLP teammate on the St. Louis Shock.

It’s an encounter Bright is looking forward to.

“I knew I was gonna have a really tough first round, but I really wanted to get to Kate,” she said. “I think this next match will be fun. [Kate] probably has a little more pressure than I do, so I’m just gonna go out and swing freely.”

The winner of the match will move on to the quarterfinals.

11:55 a.m. CT: Y. Johnson withdraws, sends Loyd to quarters

Michael Loyd is into the men's singles quarterfinals after Yates Johnson withdrew ahead of their Round of 16 meeting.

Johnson has been dealing with an abductor strain since September, when he suffered the injury at the CIBC Atlanta Slam. At this time, he is still expected to compete in men’s doubles with Jay Devilliers on Saturday.

Loyd—who is coming off an impressive Championship Sunday run last week at Worlds—will face either No. 4 seed Hunter Johnson or No. 15 seed Sam Weinbach for a spot in the semifinals.

11:50 a.m. CT: Hewett advances after Campbell retires

Rafa Hewett became the first player to book his spot in the men's singles quarterfinal after Cason Campbell retired midway through the second game.

The No. 7 seed overcame a 2-9 deficit to take the opening game and then opened up a 7-3 lead in the second before Campbell called it quits.

He will face either Adam Harvey or Blaine Hovenier with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

11:40 a.m. CT: Tellez outlasts Zwiren in three games to make Round of 16

Pablo Tellez avoided an upset in his first match of the day, coming away with an 11-6, 10-12, 11-5 victory over No. 36 seed Noah Zwiren.

The No. 5 seed is now into the Round of 16, where he'll take on fellow lefty Mohaned Alhouni with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

11:00 a.m. CT: NAMES TO WATCH: Protzek, Ford, and Harvey into Round of 16

Tom Protzek, Zane Ford, and Adam Harvey are taking advantage of this week's lighter men's singles draw and have booked their spots in the Round of 16.

Protzek did so with a three-game triumph over No. 16 seed Ross Whittaker, coming away with a 3-11, 11-9, 11-2 victory.

Not to be outdone, Harvey earned his own three-game win over No. 5 seed Dylan Frazier: 6-11, 11-9, 13-11.
