Pickleball pros share New Year’s resolutions
It’s officially 2026, which means it’s time to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.
Maybe your goal is to level up your game and raise your DUPR from a 3.5 to a 4.0. Maybe you want to compete in your first tournament. Or maybe this is the year you finally attend a PPA or MLP tour stop to watch your favorite pro play live.
Whatever your pickleball goal is for the new year, I’m wishing you resiliency, motivation, and a reliable doubles partner to drill with along the way.
The pros have also been sharing their New Year’s resolutions. As expected, many of their goals focus on fitness, health, and overall wellness.
Lea Jansen hoped to go caffeine-free in 2026.
“I don’t know if it’ll happen, but that’s the goal,” she said.

Chris Haworth’s resolution is about his overall ranking.
“My New Year’s resolution is to be World No. 1 in singles. I’m coming for that spot,” he stated. “And to be a little better at doubles.”
Dylan Frazier kept his goal simple.
“I’m going to be basic and say I’m going to improve my pickleball game,” he mentioned.
Tina Pisnik plans to “cut [her] body fat down a little bit more” and work on a more consistent sleep schedule.
Riley Newman is also working on prioritizing sleep.
“I tend to go to sleep a little later, like midnight to 1 a.m., so my New Year’s resolution is actually to try and go to sleep at a reasonable hour like 9 to 10 p.m. and wake up at a decent hour,” he insisted.
Jay Devilliers plans on hitting the gym.
“I want to spend time with my kids and helping them grow and coaching them more,” he explained. “And I want to get more fit because my wife is calling me fat.”
Mary Brascia wants to eat healthier and become a student of the game by watching more game film.
Maggie Brascia plans on setting achievable goals every time she hits the court, and she also wants to focus on strength training three to four times per week.
Hannah Blatt’s top priority for 2026 is sharpening her mental game. She plans to focus on mindset shifts, controlling what she can control, and letting go of what she can’t. She’s also committed to refining her morning routine by incorporating journaling, movement, and a consistent skincare regimen.
But if you’re looking to improve your pickleball game, Anna Bright shared 26 tips to help you play better this year.
