10:25pm PT: Flash outshine Flames in Saturday Night Pickleball

The Dallas Flash (13-0, 37pts) defeated the Phoenix Flames (3-9, 9pts) in a highly entertaining edition of Saturday Night Pickleball at the Arizona Athletic Grounds.

Jorja Johnson/Tyra Black dominated women's doubles for Dallas, but the Flames' Jack Sock/Tyson McGuffin picked up a big win over JW Johnson/Augie Ge in men's doubles to even the match going into mixed.

From there, though, it was all Dallas.

The Flash dominated both mixed doubles matchups by a combined score of 22-4 to clinch the win in regulation and continue their dominant 2025 campaign.

Dallas will face the Los Angeles Mad Drops on Sunday, while Phoenix will close out the event with battles against the SoCal Hard Eights and Brooklyn Pickleball Team.

8:00pm PT: Bouncers end skid, defeat Hard Eights in regulation

The Atlanta Bouncers (4-10, 12pts) ended their five-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the SoCal Hard Eights (0-6, 2pts).

Atlanta was having Rachel Rettger fill in for Victoria DiMuzio, and she and Vivian Glozman gave the Bouncers and early advantage by taking women's doubles.

From there, Jaume Martinez Vich won his men's doubles match alongside Todd Fought and his mixed doubles bout with Glozman to secure the win.

Both Atlanta and SoCal will be back in action on Sunday, with the Bouncers facing the Los Angeles Mad Drops and the Hard Eights taking on the Utah Black Diamonds and Phoenix Flames.

6:40pm PT: Mixed doubles propels Mad Drops to third straight win

The Los Angeles Mad Drops (4-3, 12pts) defeated the Utah Black Diamonds (2-5, 7pts) for their third straight win.

After teams split the gender doubles matchups, the Mad Drops’ pairings of Jade Kawamoto/Hunter Johnson and Catherine Parenteau/Spencer Smith picked up wins in mixed doubles to close out the contest in regulation.

This was the fourth and final match of Quang Duong’s suspension that was announced earlier this week. Spencer Smith filled in and helped Los Angeles to a 3-1 record without Duong.

“We’re just very fortunate to have had Spencer here for the past three days,” said Catherine Parenteau. “He’s definitely stepped up and played really well for us. This was a great way to finish and play some really good pickleball.”

Los Angeles will look to take advantage of being at full strength on Sunday when they face the Dallas Flash and Atlanta Bouncers.

5:10pm PT: Dallas, Brooklyn open Saturday with dominant performances

The Dallas Flash (12-0, 34pts) and Brooklyn Pickleball Team (5-4, 17pts) wasted no time winning their opening matches on Saturday, with both squads completing sweeps.

Dallas beat the Utah Black Diamonds (2-4, 7pts), while Brooklyn defeated the Atlanta Bouncers (3-10, 9pts).

Results like these just show the distance between the top teams in the Premier level and everybody else.

Dallas will be in action later Saturday night against the Phoenix Flames, while Brooklyn will next face Utah on Sunday.

4:30pm PT: Utah Black Diamonds (A) v. Los Angeles Mad Drops (H): Pre-Match Notes

The Utah Black Diamonds (2-4, 7pts) will play the Los Angeles Mad Drops (3-3, 9pts) in the second half of their double-header.

Los Angeles is on a two-match win streak after beating the Phoenix Flames on Thursday and SoCal Hard Eights on Friday. This will be the Mad Drops' final match with on-site alternate Spencer Smith in the lineup, since Quang Duong’s suspension will end with this match and he will be available for their two contests on Sunday.

Utah will be looking to regroup after falling to the Dallas Flash earlier Saturday afternoon.

Here are the individual matchups for the contest:

3:50pm PT: Brooklyn Pickleball Team (A) v. Atlanta Bouncers (H): Pre-Match Notes

The Brooklyn Pickleball Team (4-4, 14pts) and Atlanta Bouncers (3-9, 9pts) will clash in the first match of the day on Grandstand Court.

Brooklyn will be looking for their second win in a row after sweeping the SoCal Hard Eights on Friday evening.

The Bouncers, on the other hand, will be looking to stop a slump during which they have dropped four straight matches. Notably, Rachel Rettger will be starting for Atlanta in place of Victoria DiMuzio. She will play women's doubles with Vivian Glozman and mixed doubles with Todd Fought.

Rettger and Glozman played together for one event during the 2024 season for the Bay Area Breakers and finished with a 5-1 record. They will be looking to repeat that success for Atlanta.

Here are the individual matchups for the contest:

3:25pm PT: Dallas Flash (A) v. Utah Black Diamonds (H): Pre-Match Notes

The Dallas Flash (11-0, 31pts) will face the Utah Black Diamonds (2-3, 7pts) in the first bout of the day on Toray Championship Court.

Both teams should come into this match with loads of momentum; Dallas is (still) undefeated and continues to dominate, while Utah has won two matches in a row after an 0-3 start to the season in Orlando.
