5:45 p.m. CT: Irvine/Tardio overcome Pisnik/Duong to make semis
Jessie Irvine and Gabe Tardio claimed the last remaining semifinal spot in the mixed doubles draw in Milwaukee by way of an 8-11, 11-3, 11-5 victory over Tina Pisnik/Quang Duong.

It's a big win for the No. 3 seeds because it keeps them in the hunt for the gold, of course, but it's also important for both of their chances at making the PPA Tour Finals in mixed doubles.
Irvine needs to win the title this weekend to overtake Rachel Rohrabacher for the final qualifying spot on the women's side, while Tardio needs a title to potentially pass Riley Newman, Hayden Patriquin, and Tyson McGuffin and steal the final ticket to San Clemente.
Irvine and Tardio—who took gold together earlier this year in Salt Lake City—will look to get back to Championship Sunday when they face No. 6 seeds Meghan Dizon/Andrei Daescu next.
4:45 p.m. CT: Black/Patriquin outduel Jk. Kawamoto/Newman in three-game epic
Tyra Black/Hayden Patriquin emerged victorious from perhaps the match of the week in Milwaukee with an 11-4, 9-11, 11-7 triumph over No. 4 seeds Jackie Kawamoto/Riley Newman.
The bout featured several hyperathletic rallies that put the hand speed and paddle skills of all four players on full display.
In the end, though, it was the 19-year-old Patriquin who got the better of his men’s doubles partner with a hard-earned win.
“I wanted this one really badly,” Patriquin said. “I wanted to assert dominance [over Riley], and I made it happen.”
This result is also big—for Patriquin, especially—because it keeps his hopes of qualifying for the CIBC PPA Tour Finals in mixed doubles alive. He’ll need to get at least third place this week to surpass Newman for the final qualifying spot in that event.
He and Black will next take on top seeds Anna Bright/Dylan Frazier with a trip to Championship Sunday on the line.
3:30 p.m. CT: Bright/Frazier battle past Jansen/Freeman to make semis
Anna Bright/Dylan Frazier became the first team to make the mixed doubles semifinals with an 11-8, 10-12, 11-6 victory over No. 11 seeds Lea Jansen/Max Freeman.
The lefty-righty combination of Jansen/Freeman proved to be formidable as they extended the match to a third game, but the top seeds jumped out to a 7-2 advantage in the final game that they used to close out the tense affair.
This is Bright and Frazier's first tournament as a partnership this year, but they've played several events together throughout their impressive careers.
"In my first year of playing pro, I was lucky enough to play a bunch of tournaments with Dylan," Bright mentioned. "I'm super excited to be back playing with him again."
Bright/Frazier will next face either No. 4 seeds Jackie Kawamoto/Riley Newman or No. 7 seeds Hurricane Tyra Black/Hayden Patriquin for a spot in Sunday's final.
2:10 p.m. CT: Irvine and Tardio, Dizon and Daescu advance with three-game triumphs

Irvine/Tardio moved past No. 13 seeds Parris Todd/Hunter Johnson by an 11-6, 8-11, 11-1 score line and will next face No. 5 seeds Tina Pisnik/Quang Duong.
Dizon/Daescu defeated No. 9 seeds Lauren Stratman/Julian Arnold 11-1, 2-11, 11-4 to set a quarterfinal matchup with No. 2 seeds Rachel Rohrabacher/James Ignatowich.
12:45 p.m. CT: Smith/Smith outlast Hewett/Wang in three games
The all-Utah pairing of Callie Smith/Spencer Smith is into the mixed doubles Round of 16 after a back-and-forth 11-1, 8-11, 12-10 victory over No. 19 seeds Zoey Wang/Rafa Hewett.
The No. 14 seeds looked poised to close out the match when they earned an 8-3 lead in Game 2 after taking the first, but a furious run from Hewett/Wang extended the encounter to Game 3.
That run continued for Hewett/Wang until they had match point at 10-4 in the third game, but they wouldn't score any more points from there.
After saving match point, Smith/Smith went on to score eight points on a single side out to steal the win and advance in Milwaukee.
They will next face No. 2 seeds Rachel Rohrabacher/James Ignatowich.
12:05 p.m. CT: Devilliers triumphs in first match back from injury
In his first professional match in over two months, Jay Devilliers came away with a win. He and Liz Truluck defeated No. 24 seeds DJ Young/Pierina Imparato by a 4-11, 12-10, 11-4 score line to advance to the mixed doubles Round of 16.
Devilliers had not played since the CIBC Atlanta Slam in September due to a knee injury that required him to have surgery in October.
After a quicker-than-expected recovery, he’s happy to be back in the winner’s circle.
“It was definitely special,” Devilliers said of his return. “I was just trying to play with confidence and raise my level as the match went on, and I’m glad that we could pull it out. Once we got out of the second set, I felt like we were playing pretty well.”
Devilliers/Truluck will next face top seeds Dylan Frazier/Anna Bright for a spot in the quarterfinals.
11:45 a.m. CT: Khlif, Rane advance to Round of 16 in three games
Noe Khlif/Milan Rane booked their spots in the mixed doubles Round of 16 with an 11-5, 9-11, 11-8 victory over No. 16 seeds Zane Navratil/Jade Kawamoto.
The Miami Pickleball Club teammates—who will compete next week in the final rounds of the MLP Playoffs in Orlando—responded well after dropping a tightly contested Game 2 to take the third.
They will next face No. 4 seeds Riley Newman/Jackie Kawamoto with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
11:00 a.m. CT: Devilliers set to return from injury, partner with Truluck
Jay Devilliers is set to take the court for the first time since September after missing the past two months with a knee injury.
'The Flying Frenchman' was expected to miss the rest of the 2024 season, but his recovery has progressed quicker than expected.
He's partnering with Liz Truluck in mixed doubles this week, and they will face No. 24 seeds DJ Young/Pierina Imparato for a spot in the Round of 16.
Devilliers will also compete alongside Yates Johnson in men's doubles on Saturday.
