SAN CLEMENTE, CA - There were 80 pro Round of 32 matches played on Wednesday at the Select Medical Orange County Cup presented by FitVine Wine.

The higher-seeded player or team prevailed in 66 of those matches for an 83% win rate, up from 71% in Tuesday’s matches.

Men’s Singles

The higher-seeded player won 12/16 (75%) men’s singles matches on Wednesday.

Mixed Doubles

The higher-seeded team won 15/16 (94%) mixed doubles matches in the Round of 32.

No. 18 seeds Lacy Schneemann/Pablo Tellez defeating No. 9 seeds Lucy Kovalova/Matt Wright 13-11, 11-9 was the only match where this didn’t happen. Schneemann/Tellez will square off against No. 5 seeds Lea Jansen/Riley Newman on Thursday.

Men’s Doubles

The higher-seeded team won 14/16 (88%) men’s doubles matches on Wednesday.

Here are the two matches where that didn’t happen:

Haworth and Goldin are continuing their strong form after fighting through Monday’s qualifying rounds. They will next face No. 5 seeds Hayden Patriquin and Pablo Tellez.

Women’s Doubles

The higher-seeded team won 15/16 (94%) women’s doubles matches with teams competing for a spot in the Round of 16.

The only match where this wasn’t the case featured No. 23 seeds Genie Bouchard/Layne Sleeth beating No. 16 seeds Cass Hoag/Jamie Haas 11-9, 12-10. Bouchard/Sleeth will face No. 2 seeds Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher next.
