Collin Johns, Judit Castillo headline available players for MLP Waiver Period #2

In accordance with the second and final waiver period of the 2025 MLP season, all 16 Premier level teams were required to declare their 5th and 6th players—in other words, their non-starters—on Tuesday.

The Carolina Hogs (2-12, 7pts) and SoCal Hard Eights (2-12, 7pts) made some of the most notable moves with their selections.

Carolina marked Collin Johns as the third male on its roster, even though Johns has started every match that he’s been available for. He has played men’s doubles with Ben Johns and mixed doubles with a combination of Kaitlyn Christian and Liz Truluck.

The Hogs then marked Brandon French—who has yet to play a match this MLP season—as their second starting male.

It’s hard to know exactly what this means for Carolina, but this move opens the door for them to add another team’s bench player in place in French.

It also, of course, leaves Johns available to be claimed by another team.

SoCal made a similarly notable move in marking Judit Castillo as the third female on its roster. Castillo has been the only constant on the female side for the Hard Eights so far this season, playing in every match so far.

This move marks Irina Tereschenko and Jalina Ingram as the two staters for SoCal. Ingram was added during the first waiver period and has played in 11 total games with Tereshenko dealing with a lower body injury.

If the Hard Eights do make a move, I would expect them to add someone in place of Tereschenko, despite her history of success in MLP. I could see SoCal putting in a claim for Helena Jansen of the Texas Ranchers, as she would provide more value in DreamBreakers than Tereschenko currently does.

We’ll have to wait until Monday to see which teams act and which teams don’t during the final waiver period of the season.

Until then, here are the players that each team designated as bench players:
