The PPA Tour's Rate Championships presented by Skechers continues with main draw mixed doubles action on Friday.

5:10 p.m. PDT: Parenteau, Ignatowich battle past Mag. Brascia, Arnold to make semis

In Friday's final quarterfinal match, Catherine Parenteau and James Ignatowich defeated No. 19 seeds Maggie Brascia and Julian Arnold by an 11-9, 2-11, 11-7 score line. 

The No. 4 seeds—who are playing together for the first time since their title run in Minnesota in 2023—overcame a 1-6 deficit in the opening game to come back and take it.

That proved to be an important comeback, as they would go on to drop Game 2.

In the third, Parenteau and Ignatowich jumped out to an 8-4 lead, an advantage they would ride to the eventual victory.

They will face No. 2 seeds Jorja and JW Johnson in the semifinals for a chance to play on Championship Sunday.

3:55 p.m. PDT: Jansen, Sock outlast Irvine, Tardio in three-game thriller

Lea Jansen and Jack Sock booked their spots in the mixed doubles quarterfinals with an 11-9, 6-11, 11-7 victory over No. 8 seeds Jessie Irvine and Gabriel Tardio. 

The battle was filled with wild runs from both teams, including two crucial comebacks from Jansen and Sock.

In Game 1, the No. 11 seeds trailed 1-9 before going on a 10-0 run to close it out. Then, in Game 3, they again found themselves trailing 2-7 before scoring the match's final nine points to make the quarters.

The New York Hustlers teammates will next face No. 2 seeds Jorja and JW Johnson with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

3:30 p.m. PDT: Wright, Alshon close out Dizon, Daescu in two games

Etta Wright and Christian Alshon are the first team into the mixed doubles semifinals after their 11-4, 14-12 victory over No. 13 seeds Andrei Daescu and Meghan Dizon.

The No. 5 seeds—who are also teammates on the Texas Ranchers in Major League Pickleball—had to fight to get the job done in two games.

They saved three game points before clinching the win on their fourth match point attempt.

For Wright, performing in those tight situations comes down to staying in the moment.

“I think it’s really just about staying present and not getting too far pulled or thinking about the last shot” she shared.

She and Alshon will face either Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns or Allyce Jones and Quang Duong in the semifinals.

2:30 p.m. PDT: Jones, Duong continue impressive with victory over Rohrabacher, Staksrud

The first-time pairing of Allyce Jones and Quang Duong continues to impress in Las Vegas. They advanced to the quarterfinals with an 11-7, 11-4 victory over No. 7 seeds Rachel Rohrabacher and Federico Staksrud.

Jones' top-tier defense on the right combined with Duong's hyperaggressive style on the left has proven to be a winning recipe so far, as the No. 23 seeds have yet to drop a game through three matches. 

The road only gets tougher for Jones and Duong, though, as they will take on top seeds Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns in the quarterfinals.

2:10 p.m. PDT: Dizon, Daescu dispatch Bright, Patriquin to make quarters

Meghan Dizon and Andrei Daescu are into the mixed doubles quarterfinals after an 11-9, 3-11, 11-5 victory over No. 3 seeds Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin. 

The No. 13 seeds jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first game that they were narrowly able to close out. They faltered in the second but found their best form in Game 3 to outlast their St. Louis Shock opponents.

Dizon and Daescu will next face No. 5 seeds Etta Wright and Christian Alshon with a spot in the semifinals on the line.

1:25 p.m. PDT: Johnson siblings, Smith and Navratil set Round of 16 clash with three-game victories

The pairings of Jorja and JW Johnson and Callie Smith and Zane Navratil will face off in Las Vegas after securing three-game victories in the Round of 32.

The Johnsons advanced with a 9-11, 11-5, 11-3 over No. 27 seeds Alix Truong and AJ Koller.

It looked like the No. 2 seeds might be on upset alert when they dropped the first game, but they comfortably took Game 2 and 3 to put those worries to rest.

No. 20 seeds Smith and Navratil had a tough start themselves against No. 14 seeds Jade Kawamoto and Tyson McGuffin. 

That didn't stop them from turning things around in the final two games to come away with a 2-11, 11-9, 11-4 victory.

Both teams will be eyeing a spot in the quarterfinals when they square off later Friday afternoon.

12:55 p.m. PDT: Koop, Bellamy upset David, Ge in three games

For the second day in a row, Roscoe Bellamy has been at the center of a big upset in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, he beat Ben Johns in singles; now on Friday, he and Andrea Koop have beaten No. 6 seeds Vivienne David and Augie Ge in mixed doubles by a 5-11, 11-5, 11-9 score line.

The No. 36 seeds will take on either Vivian Glozman and Dekel Bar or Maggie Brascia and Julian Arnold for a spot in the quarterfinals.

12:00 p.m. PDT: First-time partners Fahey, Frazier move into Round of 16

Kate Fahey and Dylan Frazier had never played a tournament together before this week, but they haven't let that stop them from making a nice run in Las Vegas. 

The No. 22 seeds are into the Round of 16 after an 11-7, 12-10 victory over No. 12 seeds Jackie Kawamoto and Riley Newman.

Fahey—who is known for her fiery spirit and being very vocal on court—appreciates Frazier’s more laid-back demeanor.

“I love Dylan’s attitude,” she said. “He’s super competitive and super fiery, but also very calm. That definitely helps keep me calm, too.”

The first-time partners will look to continue their run when they face No. 5 seeds Etta Wright and Christian Alshon with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

11:25 a.m. PDT: Kovalova, Wright win epic over Castillo, Khlif

Lucy Kovalova and Matt Wright are into the Round of 32 after a 7-11, 11-7, 14-12 victory over No. 51 seeds Judit Castillo and Noe Khlif. 

The No. 15 seeds overcame a 2-6 deficit in a 43-minute third game and saved four match points before closing out the encounter at the sixth time of asking.

They will next face No. 21 seeds Lacy Schneemann and Tyler Loong with a spot in the Round of 16 on the line.

8:00 a.m. PDT: Tereschenko, Pisnik withdraw from mixed doubles competition

Irina Tereschenko and Tina Pisnik withdrew from the mixed doubles draw, citing illness and Hurricane Milton, respectively. 

Tereschenko was set to play with Travis Rettenmaier; now, No. 40 seeds Genie Erokhina and Ryan Fu will advance to the Round of 32 to face top seeds Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns. 

Pisnik was set to play with Collin Johns. Her withdrawal means that No. 56 seeds Simone Leonard and Oliver Frank will advance to the Round of 32.

They will face the winner of the match pitting No. 23 seeds Allyce Jones and Quang Duong against No. 41 seeds Christine Trifunovic and Brandon French.
