6:35 p.m. ET: Late run helps Klinger, Fought overcome Navratil, Hewett in three games

CJ Klinger and Todd Fought are into the men's doubles Round of 16 after a thrilling 8-11, 11-6, 11-8 victory over No. 11 seeds Zane Navratil and Rafa Hewett.

It was a clinic in resilience from the No. 23 seeds, who rallied once after dropping the first game and then again after facing a 1-6 deficit in Game 3.

The encounter was filled with high-speed hands battles involving all four players, but Klinger and Fought excelled down the stretch at extending rallies and fighting their way back to neutral at the kitchen.

They'll take on No. 6 seeds Andrei Daescu and Gabriel Tardio with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line on Thursday afternoon.

4:50 p.m. ET: Young, Rettenmaier outduel Sock, Shick in battle of former tennis pros

Donald Young and Travis Rettenmaier came through a highly entertaining clash against Jack Sock and Collin Shick with a 9-11, 11-7, 11-3 victory.

The bout featured three former tennis pros, with Sock, Young, and Rettenmaier all having competed on the ATP Tour before pickleball.

Young's tennis career ended most recently with his run to the mixed doubles final at the US Open alongside Taylor Townsend.

Even though that was just last week, Young has already returned to a high level on the pickleball court; the lefty made several hyperathletic plays alongside Rettenmaier, his new teammate on the Florida Smash.

The No. 15 seeds will next take on the winner of the match pitting Dekel Bar and James Ignatowich against Eric Oncins and Wyatt Stone

3:25 p.m. ET: Rane, Martinez Vich survive battle against Oshiro, Khlif

Milan Rane and Jaume Martinez Vich emerged with an 11-3, 2-11, 11-9 victory over Bobbi Oshiro and Noe Khlif from a match that featured three members of the Miami Pickleball Club

After teams split the first two games by almost identical score lines, Rane and Martinez Vich jumped out to a 5-1 advantage in the decider.

That lead quickly disappeared thanks to a run from their opponents, and the No. 25 seeds suddenly found themselves trailing 6-9.

Seven points later, though, Rane and Martinez Vich stood triumphant after a clutch run filled with high level play.

They will next face the winner of the match pitting Hurricane Tyra Black and Dylan Frazier against Parris Todd and Hunter Johnson in the Round of 16.

2:55 p.m. ET: Jd. Kamamoto, Rettenmaier down Jones, Newman in two games

Jade Kawamoto and Travis Rettenmaier booked their spots in the Round of 16 with a convincing 11-3, 11-7 victory over No. 10 seeds Allyce Jones and Riley Newman

Newman is fresh off a silver medal in Las Vegas, but that didn't deter the No. 23 seeds from delivering a stellar performance.

2:30 p.m. ET: Foster takes Y. Johnson to the limit, falls in three

No. 53 Jack Foster almost delivered a second consecutive upset in singles after besting No. 9 Jack Sock in the Round of 64 on Tuesday.

This time, Foster went the distance with No. 18 Yates Johnson, but lost 11-7, 10-12, 8-11.

It was another valiant effort from the 22-year-old.

Johnson will face No. 33 Ivan Jakovljevic in the Round of 16.

1:40 p.m. ET: JW Johnson stops Young's singles run

No. 11 JW Johnson advanced to the Round of 16 with a 12-10, 11-3 win over No. 23 Donald Young on Humana Championship Court.

Young, of course, recently earned a runner-up finish in mixed doubles at the US Open to close out his professional tennis career.

"Obviously, I knew it was going to be a tough match overall, especially since I haven't been playing singles in quite a while," said Johnson. "Playing lefties is pretty challenging, singles or doubles. I just had to adjust because the backhand is the opposite side compared to what I'm usually playing against. I had to keep going for my shots. I knew I was missing some in the first game. Other than that, I just felt pretty confident out there."

Johnson will face No. 8 Jaume Martinez Vich in the Round of 16.

1:00 p.m. ET: Garnett, Frazier, Martinez Vich pushed to three games in respective singles contests, but advance

No. 3 Connor Garnett earned a 6-11, 13-11, 11-3 triumph over No. 25 Cason Campbell to advance to the Round of 16.

Credit the 18-year-old for taking one of the best singles players on the planet to a third and deciding stanza.

Meanwhile, No. 6 Dylan Frazier finally got past No. 38 Augie Ge 2-11, 11-6, 11-2 in a lengthy head-to-head battle that lasted 53 minutes.

Elsewhere, No. 8 Jaume Martinez Vich defeated No. 26 Ryan Sherry 3-11, 12-10, 11-3 to punch his ticket to the next round.

The 41-year-old certainly made Martinez Vich work for this one.

12:30 p.m. ET: Johns tested by Khlif, but comes out on top

No. 2 Ben Johns advanced to the Round of 16 with an 11-2, 12-10 victory over No. 29 Noe Khlif.

While the Frenchman couldn't generate much of anything in the first game, he definitely gave Johns a good run in the second stanza.

During the post-match press conference, Johns talked about battling the rising star.

"I feel like he's got good touch and hits some really good drop volleys. His drop volleys put him at an upper hand in the cat and mouse to start with because you're kind of running in to chase it down," he explained. "I love to see that style because I think it's a style that still works really well since not too many people play it, so I'm looking forward to playing him some more, and hopefully he keeps that up because it's going to get him some wins."

Johns will face No. 50 Grayson Goldin in the Round of 16.

12:15 p.m. ET: Duong withdraws from singles

After battling an ankle injury in Las Vegas, No. 7 Quang Duong was forced to withdraw from his singles match against No. 28 Alex Neumann before it got underway.

"Prayers up to Quang Duong," said Neumann, via his Instagram story. "Hope you're ok, man."

He will face No. 21 Gabe Tardio in the Round of 16.

11:55 a.m. ET: Qualifier Geut upsets Schneemann in three-game battle

No. 9 Lacy Schneemann was outsted from the singles draw by No. 41 Elina Geut in a contest that went the distance.

The final score was 13-11, 2-11, 12-10. Click here to check out the match stats.

Geut will battle No. 5 Salome Devidze in the Round of 16.

When she isn't plying her trade on the 20x44, Geut is an assistant project manager in the Knoxville office of Civil and Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC).

After earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee at Martin, Geut earned a master's degree in structural engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Schneemann, meanwhile, was working at Boeing as an aerospace engineer before transitioning to pickleball on a full-time basis.

11:30 a.m. ET: Waters cruises to easy singles victory over Murphy

World No. 1 Anna Leigh Waters was flawless against No. 25 Michelle Murphy to start the day on Humana Championship Court with an 11-4, 11-3 victory in just 28 minutes.

The 17-year-old phenom is clearly in fine form after taking a well-deserved break following her Triple Crown effort in Las Vegas.

"I definitely wanted to train and get better, but I was pretty exhausted after playing in Vegas, so my personal trainer and physical therapist were like, 'Ok, you're taking this entire week off.' Of course I did some physical therapy stuff, some pool workouts, stuff like that, but I honestly didn't touch a pickleball until two days ago," said Waters. "I was excited about the break, but I was definitely excited to come back and play pickleball. I was getting a little bored not being able to play the sport that I love."
