Allyce Jones/Tyra Black are into the women's doubles semifinals after an 11-7, 11-6 victory over No. 8 seeds Andrea Koop/Kate Fahey

This win sets them up to face top seeds Anna Bright/Rachel Rohrabacher next, which will be the third installment of what is quickly blossoming into one of the most entertaining rivalries in pro pickleball.

Bright/Rohrabacher are 2-0 in the matchup, but both wins have come in three games after intense, back-and-forth battles.

Black/Jones will be out for revenge Saturday evening in the Baird Center.

2:55 p.m. CT: Women's doubles quarterfinal matches set

The quarterfinal matchups for the women's doubles draw in Milwaukee are set, with seven out of the top eight making it.

See the matchups below.

2:50 p.m. CT: Staksrud, Tardio earn statement win over Newman, Patriquin

Federico Staksrud/Gabe Tardio became the first pairing to make the men’s doubles semifinals with a dominant 11-7, 11-0 victory over No. 5 seeds Riley Newman/Hayden Patriquin.

The top seeds, who took home gold at the Selkirk Kansas City Open back in August, thrived behind Staksrud’s steady left-side play and Tardio’s creativity and craftiness on the right.

Newman/Patriquin were fresh off a title at Worlds last week, but Staksrud/Tardio didn’t let them carry that momentum with them up to Wisconsin.

“They were the best team that week, and I personally lost to them in the semis, so I just tried to look back and see what patterns they were using and adjust,” Staksrud explained.

Next up for Staksrud /Tardio is a semifinal clash against No. 4 seeds Andrei Daescu/Pablo Tellez.

1:55 p.m. CT: Koller, C. Johns survive upset bid from Teoni, C. Johnson

AJ Koller/Collin Johns are into the men's doubles quarterfinals by the skin of their teeth after an 11-3, 6-11, 13-11 triumph over No. 14 seeds Pesa Teoni/Craig Johnson

The No. 3 seeds—who have a PPA silver medal together from 2022—overcame a 7-10 deficit in the final game and saved four match points before closing it out at the first time of asking.

Score card showing AJ Koller and Collin Johns' 11-3, 6-11, 13-11 victory over Pesa Teoni and Craig Johnson.

12:45 P.M. CT: Hewett, H. Johnson battle past Navratil, Cincola after slow start

Rafa Hewett/Hunter Johnson overcame a slow start against No. 8 seeds Zane Navratil/John Cincola to come away with a 4-11, 11-6, 11-3 victory.

The No. 10 seeds dropped the first game after shockingly getting down 0-9, but they responded strongly and comfortably took the next two games to advance to the quarterfinals.

With Navratil having grown up in Wisconsin and Cincola having done the same nearby in Illinois, they had the crowd behind them.

That made the victory that much sweeter for Hewett.

“Zane and John are great guys, and they’re friends of mine off the court as well,” he mentioned. “They’ve both done a lot in the sport, so getting to play against them kind of on their home court and taking them down was a fun experience.”

Hewett and Johnson will next face either Andrei Daescu/Pablo Tellez or Ivan Jakovljevic/Anderson Scarpa for a spot in the semifinals.

12:10 p.m. CT: Newman, Patriquin overcome early challenge from Devilliers, Y. Johnson

Riley Newman/Hayden Patriquin battled past No. 9 seeds Jay Devilliers/Yates Johnson to advance to the quarterfinals.

The No. 5 seeds are fresh off a title last week Worlds, but they've already been pushed in their first few matches together in Milwaukee.

This win sets them up to face top seeds Federico Staksrud/Gabe Tardio in a match that will feature must-watch pickleball.

12:00 p.m. CT: Freeman, Fu outlast Dawson, Fought in three games

Max Freeman/Ryan Fu booked their spots in the men's doubles Round of 16 with a 10-12, 11-8, 11-9 victory over No. 12 seeds Callan Dawson/Todd Fought.

Score card showing Max Freeman and Ryan Fu's 10-12, 11-8, 11-9 victory over Callan Dawson and Todd Fought.

The No. 23 seeds will take on No. 7 seeds James Ignatowich/CJ Klinger with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

9:40 a.m. CT: Lee/Donkena advance due to withdrawal from Khlif/Loong

Samuel Lee/Amrik Donkena advanced to the men's doubles Round of 16 after their first-round opponents, Noe Khlif and Tyler Loong, withdrew ahead of the match.

The No. 27 seeds—who came through Monday's qualifying draw—are now one win away from making the quarterfinals.

They will face either Julian Arnold/Blaine Hovenier or Aanik Lohani/Mohaned Alhouni for a chance to move on to the last eight in Milwaukee.
