6:35pm EDT: Kawamotos upset Bright, Rohrabacher in three games to reach semis
No. 6 seeds Jackie Kawamoto and Jade Kawamoto advanced to Semifinal Saturday by stunning No. 2 seeds Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher 2-11, 12-10, 11-4 in a match that went the distance.
It was a particularly impressive victory for Jackie and Jade after being dominated in the opening stanza.
"I'm not sure what happened in Game 1," said Jackie. "I think we woke up a little bit [after that]. We were a little tired from our Round of 16 match and had to get the legs going and get on the same page with each other."
The Kawamoto sisters will face No. 3 seeds Tyra Black and Jorja Johnson in the next round.
Black and Johnson defeated No. 5 seeds Meghan Dizon and Etta Tuionetoa in straight games 11-8, 11-8 in their quarterfinal matchup.
6:15pm EDT: Waters and Parenteau, Todd and Schneemann will battle in semis
Top seeds Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau made easy work of eighth-seeded Kate Fahey and Tina Pisnik in straight games 11-3, 11-7 to earn a spot in the semifinals.
Waters and Parenteau will face fourth-seeded Parris Todd and Lacy Schneemann on Saturday.
Todd and Schneemann defeated seventh-seeded Lea Jansen and Mari Humberg in straight games 11-7, 11-4 in their quarterfinal matchup.
4:40pm EDT: Staksrud and Patriquin, McGuffin and Bar set semis clash with dominant performances
The pairings of Federico Staksrud/Hayden Patriquin and Tyson McGuffin/Dekel Bar surged into the men's doubles semifinals with impressive performances on Friday afternoon.
Staksrud/Patriquin did so with an 11-4, 11-5 victory over No. 6 seeds Noe Khlif/Collin Johns; just over half an hour later on Humana Championship Court, McGuffin/Bar followed suit and dispatched No. 11 seeds Connor Garnett/Tyler Loong by an 11-3, 11-5 score line.
The two pairings will face each other on Semifinal Saturday with a spot in the men's doubles gold medal match on the line.
4:15pm EDT: Women's doubles quarterfinals set
Here are the four quarterfinal matchups in women's doubles:
- No. 1 Anna Leigh Waters/Catherine Parenteau v. No. 8 Kate Fahey/Tina Pisnik
- No. 4 Lacy Schneemann/Parris Todd v. No. 7 Lea Jansen/Mari Humberg
- No. 2 Anna Bright/Rachel Rohrabacher v. No. 6 Jackie Kawamoto/Jade Kawamoto
- No. 3 Tyra Black/Jorja Johnson v. No. 5 Etta Tuionetoa/Meghan Dizon
4:05pm EDT: Oncins, Frazier outlast Alshon, Daescu in three-game thriller
Eric Oncins/Dylan Frazier delivered one of the week’s best performances at Cary Tennis Park with their 11-3, 6-11, 12-10 victory over No. 3 seeds Christian Alshon/Andrei Daescu.
After teams split the opening two games, Alshon/Daescu—who have won three tournaments in a row while playing together—jumped out to an 8-3 advantage.
All hope seemed to be lost for Oncins/Frazier when they faced match point a few moments later at 5-10, but the story of this match doesn’t end there.
The No. 8 seeds saved four match points and eventually came back to tie the score at 10-10.
From there, Oncins/Frazier would go on to close out the contest in front of a raucous crowd and steal a win in one of the most electrifying matches of the 2025 season.
Frazier spoke about the energy that Oncins brings as a teammate and how that helps in big moments.
“It helps a lot, especially against a team like Andrei and Christian,” he noted. “That team has been playing lights-out, so keeping the energy the entire time, even when you lose a few points, is huge. I’ve been feeling down a little bit these past few days with an illness, but Eric was keeping me mentally present and focused. I think [Andrei and Christian] are the hottest team on tour right now, but I think I’ve got the hottest player by my side.”
This massive win sets up Oncins/Frazier to face No. 2 seeds Ben Johns/Gabe Tardio on Semifinal Saturday.
3:25pm EDT: Johnson, Black avenge Red Rock loss, defeat Chrisian, Gecheva in straight games
Jorja Johnson/Tyra Blacked surged into the women's doubles quarterfinals with an 11-6, 11-6 victory over No. 24 seeds Kaitlyn Christian/Christa Gecheva.
And they got revenge while doing so.
The No. 3 seeds lost this matchup just last week at the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open, where Christian/Gecheva made a memorable run to the semifinals.
But there was no upset Friday afternoon in North Carolina, as the Dallas Flash teammates put forth an impressive performance and got the win in two games.
They will next face either No. 5 seeds Etta Tuionetoa/Meghan Dizon or No. 9 seeds Callie Smith/Milan Rane with a spot in the semifinals on the line.
2:55pm EDT: Men's doubles quarterfinals set
Here are the four quarterfinal matchups in men's doubles. One has already been played.
- No. 1 Federico Staksrud/Hayden Patriquin v. No. 6 Noe Khlif/Collin Johns
- No. 4 Tyson McGuffin/Dekel Bar v. No. 11 Connor Garnett/Tyler Loong
- No. 2 Ben Johns/Gabe Tardio def. No. 5 JW Johnson/CJ Klinger 11-7, 11-6
- No. 3 Christian Alshon/Andrei Daescu v. No. 8 Eric Oncins/Dylan Frazier
2:40pm EDT: Garnett, Loong outduel Devilliers, Tellez in three games
Connor Garnett/Tyler Loong claimed the final spot in the men's doubles quarterfinal round with a thrilling 9-11, 12-10, 12-10 victory over No. 7 seeds Jay Devilliers/Pablo Tellez.
The Utah Black Diamond teammates were in trouble when they trailed 1-6 in the second game after dropping the first, but they went on an eight-point run and eventually forced a decider.
The opposite almost happened in Game 3, as Devilliers/Tellez tied the score at 10-10 after trailing 6-10, but Garnett/Loong eventually closed out the contest at the third time of asking after over an hour on court.

The No. 11 seeds will face No. 4 seeds Tyson McGuffin/Dekel Bar in the quarterfinals.
2:15pm EDT: McGuffin, Bar overcome challenge from French, Stone to make quarters
Tyson McGuffin/Dekel Bar are into the men's doubles quarterfinals after an 11-5, 11-9 victory over No. 19 seeds Brandon French/Wyatt Stone.
It looked like the No. 4 seeds would cruise to the win when they got up 7-1 in Game 2 after taking the first, but highly effective speedups off the bounce from French eventually brought the score to 9-9.
Not deterred by the looming threat of a third game, McGuffin/Bar closed out the contest a few moments later.
They will next face either No. 7 seeds Jay Devilliers/Pablo Tellez or No. 11 seeds Connor Garnett/Tyler Loong for a spot in the semifinals.
12:40pm EDT: Brown, Y. Johnson move past Ge, Martinez Vich in straight games
Marshall Brown/Yates Johnson booked the final spot in the men's doubles Round of 16 with an 11-9, 11-8 victory over No. 9 seeds Augie Ge/Jaume Martinez Vich.
The No. 24 seeds were down late in both games--trailing 5-9 in the first and 5-8 in the second--but used six-point runs to close out the match in straight games and advance.
They will face No. 6 seeds Noe Khlif/Collin Johns next with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
12:20pm EDT: Fu, Ignatowich advance after Sock retires due to back injury
Ryan Fu/James Ignatowich are through to the Round of 16 in men's doubles after Jack Sock was forced to retire from their match with a back injury.
Sock and Eric Roddy took the match's opening game 11-7 before Fu/Ignatowich responded and took the second game 11-5.
Sock clearly wasn't moving as well in that second game, so he took a medical timeout in between Games 2 and 3. Even though he was eventually able to return to the court, he played only one point in the third game before officially retiring from the contest.
This means that Fu/Ignatowich will advance to face No. 3 seeds Christian Alshon/Andrei Daescu.
11:05am EDT: Late run lifts Hovenier, Cincola over Hewett, Johnson
Blaine Hovenier/John Cincola advanced to the men's doubles Round of 16 with a 10-12, 11-9, 11-7 victory over No. 14 seeds Rafa Hewett/Hunter Johnson.
The No. 22 seeds looked to be in trouble when they trailed 3-6 in the deciding game, but they went on to score eight of the match's final nine points to take the win after just under an hour on court.

They will next face either No. 2 seeds Ben Johns/Gabe Tardio or No. 34 seeds Juan Benitez/Adam Harvey with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
10:40am EDT: French, Stone defeat Young, Rettenmaier to make Round of 16
Brandon French/Wyatt Stone became the first team to advance to the Round of 16 in North Carolina with an 11-7, 11-5 victory over No. 16 seeds Donald Young/Travis Rettenmaier.
The No. 19 seeds will next face either No. 4 seeds Tyson McGuffin/Dekel Bar or No. 36 seeds Jonathan Truong/David Bieger.
